The contract for TTS Construction included the design and construction of a 10MW/4.3 MWh battery energy storage system.  This unique system, called the LM6000 Hybrid Electric Gas Turbine (Hybrid EGT)* supports SCE’s increasing renewable energy capacity by providing quick start, fast ramping capabilities when they are needed.  Working in conjunction with Wellhead and GE, TTS Construction was responsible for the construction activities including site grading, excavation, underground conduits, backfill, compaction, rebar, concrete and the setting of all equipment including transformers, inverters, battery building and batteries.  This project also including underground work and above ground tie-ins to the existing 13.8kV transformer and PDM.  All work was done inside an existing 50MW peaking facility.
